Born in Bordeaux, France in the 1980s to a Portuguese immigrant family, Sofia has been mixing different cultures with their values, sounds, flavours, colours and feelings from very early age. A gentle blend of hypersensitivity, primal instinct, passion and universality characterizes her.
Fascinated by the mysterious beauty of the Universe for as long as she can remember; the moon, the stars and the sun became her refuge during difficult moments of her childhood. In these early years she perceived colour from the vibration of places and people as spots on her field of vision until the age of seven when her eyesight rapidly deteriorated plunging her into another vision, that of her inner world.
On her journey of self discovery, it was in Chile, the land of the Mapuche, located on the fault of the Nazca Plate, landlocked between the Andes to the East and the Pacific Ocean to the west under a starry sky unique in the world, that Sofia was born energetically and artistically.
Auto-dictat, her art progressively engaged her in reflections on the collective consciousness; art and human accompaniment merge towards an intuitive, spiritual, assumed creativity transcending the simple boundaries of the canvas.
